One-to-One Writing Coaching

Business man writing

I provide one-to-one writing tuition that helps people improve their writing skills and so achieve personal and professional goals.

By improving your writing skills you will be better able to:

  • Present a professional image.
  • Influence others effectively.
  • Represent your organisation successfully.

As you move higher up the career ladder, the ability to write clearly and effectively becomes an increasingly critical skill.  The way you write is as much part of your professional identity as is the way you dress and the way you present yourself.

If, like many, you worry that your writing skills let you down, I can help.

How My One-to-One English Coaching Works

I provide a free no-commitment assessment of your writing skills, and will give my honest opinion on whether I can help you.

If you decide to go ahead with coaching, then we’ll agree a programme based on your specific needs and designed around the types of writing that you currently do or expect to be doing.  If you’ve got real pieces of writing to work on, we will use these as the basis for our sessions.  This way, you'll start to produce more effective pieces of writing right from the beginning.

Writing skills programmes are normally a mixture of face-to-face and phone/e-mail support.

I'm a qualified teacher of adults. My approach is relaxed and supportive. I know you have other things to do, so you control the pace. If you're too busy to focus on the programme for a few weeks, that's fine. We'll work together to get you to where you want to be with your writing.

What it Costs

The cost will vary depending on what you want to achieve. A typical one-to-one writing skills programme might include:

Initial assessment.

Individual learning programme, designed for your needs.

4 two-hour sessions here in Macclesfield* or via Skype.

Tailored assignments with full feedback.

Guidance and detailed feedback on real-life writing.

The cost for this would be £695.

*If it's easier, I can come to you - subject to an additional charge.

Comment From A Client

"In today's fast paced world, people speak in business jargon and use texting shortcuts to communicate, confirming their decisions and agreements on email later on. While the mobile phone and email have transformed our lives, along the way, the art of letter writing has to some degree been lost.

It is not that people are unable to set their thoughts on paper but more that the accuracy of the written word has been debased, often resulting in poorly constructed sentences and general ambiguity.

Errors that lead to mis-communication have potentially serious implications for business.

Recognising this, any of our staff whose written skills fall short are referred to Beverley Moore for coaching.

Improvements in the quality and accuracy of written English, thanks to Beverley's teaching skills, have been profound; in one case, resulting in the pupil paying for additional lessons from his own pocket.

In short, we can happily endorse Beverley's capabilities in the knowledge that whoever comes to her for help will not be disappointed."

Writing Points

"You don't have to be a genius to write clear, effective English.

You just have to understand what writing involves and know how to handle words and sentences and paragraphs. That you can learn....

...it is of immediate practical benefit in almost any job or career...if you know how to write, you will get along faster and further."

Thomas S. Kane, 'The Oxford Essential Guide to Writing.'
